Style Fashion Week LA Recap, Octavio Carlin, Gypsy 05, Nicolita, Stop Staring!

If you were lucky enough to find an invite to this year’s Style Fashion Week LA, you definitely were treated to a fantastic industry party, plenty of Hollywood glamour and some spectacular runway performances by a slew of hot designers and even a few new emerging brands.

For those of you that missed it, here’s a little fall Style Fashion Week Los Angeles recap.

Style Fashion Week LA Recap

Just what is Style Fashion Week?  As you know, fashion weeks in cities like Milan or New York tend to draw a lot of press.  For whatever reason, Fashion Week in LA hasn’t been much of a high-production event in recent years.  In many ways, it takes a backseat to lots of Fashion Week events in more metro areas across the U.S. and some of the more glamour-minded cities throughout the fashion world.

But this year, things have been different.

Thanks to Style Fashion Week LA’s ability to showcase some extremely hot and emerging designers, many of whom are local to Southern California, this year’s performances have been pretty fantastic, causing some to go so far as to say they’ve put Fashion Week “back on the map” in LA. Style Fashion Week Night 3: Gypsy 05

After two amazing nights of runway shows from some fantastic Spring and Summer lines, the star of tonight’s runway performance was Gypsy 05. According to Gypsy 05’s Facebook profile, “The Style Fashion Week Gypsy 05 Fashion Show last night could not have been any better. It was such a success and absolutely gorgeous. Thanks to all of you amazing people who support Gypsy 05 and make it who it is…. We love you all ♥ the Gypsy 05 Team.”

We couldn’t agree more!

Gypsy 05

Gypsy 05, one of Hollywood’s hottest fashion lines, was started in 2005 by brother and sister Osi and Dotan Shoham. Creativity and free spirit run rampant in Gypsy 05’s collections and pieces.

Wednesday night was no exception—expect to see plenty of Gypsyz running around in the Spring and Summer of 2012…

Vibrant pastel color and super bright and eye-catching takes on fairly traditional and very wearable summer pieces, Gypsy 05’s runway show looked to be one of the most “sellable” lines of summer 2012 fashion that have been showcased thusfar at Style Fashion Week, Los Angeles.

Style Fashion Week Night 2: Stop Staring, Alternative Apparel,

Much like Style Fashion Week’s inaugural runway event last March, fashion industry reps and invited guests attending the old Vibiana Cathedral in downtown LA Tuesday got a runway full of retro from Paramount-based and vintage-ispired designers Stop Staring, this time to showcase their spring and summer 2012 designs.

Stop Staring!

Designer Alicia Estrada has stayed true to the retro vibe that’s made her line incredibly popular—kicking off the second night of Style Fashion Week LA as the first runway presenter, many of Estrada’s models looked like they popped out of a Fred Astaire dance choreography or maybe off the set of AMC’s Mad Men.
